As a proud Calgarian and lifelong advocate for sport, I am deeply honoured and excited to step into the role of Board Chair at WinSport, starting February 2025.

This opportunity to serve an organization that plays such a pivotal role in our city and beyond is truly a privilege.

First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt thanks to Greg Kwong, our outgoing Chair, for his exceptional leadership and vision. Greg’s dedication has guided WinSport through remarkable milestones, and I am inspired to build on the solid foundation he has established. The bar has been set high, and I will strive to carry forward his legacy with the same energy and commitment.

My vision for WinSport is rooted in collaboration and a team-first mindset. Since joining the Board in 2017, I’ve been inspired by the incredible potential of this organization to bring people together through the spirit of sport. As we look ahead, our shared mission remains clear: to drive sports participation, strengthen community connections, and deliver unforgettable experiences for athletes, families, and event attendees alike.

One of the most transformative projects during my tenure will be the completion of the Day Lodge renovation. This ambitious project will reimagine a nearly 40-year-old facility, revitalizing our winter and summer offerings, from skiing and snowboarding to mountain biking and summer camps. The new Day Lodge will elevate the guest experience with state-of-the-art features and create an even stronger foundation for athlete development, serving everyone from grassroots participants to elite competitors.

We look forward to unveiling more details about this incredible facility soon. Once complete, it will stand as a beacon of WinSport’s commitment to excellence and a cornerstone of Canada Olympic Park’s future.

This transformative project would not be possible without the generous support of our partners. On behalf of the Board and the entire WinSport community, I extend sincere gratitude to the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada for their significant financial contributions. Their investment ensures this dream becomes a reality, helping us continue to inspire and empower people through sport.

As a not-for-profit organization, WinSport remains steadfast in its commitment to making prudent decisions that ensure we can serve Calgarians of all ages and abilities for generations to come. Whether introducing newcomers to the joy of winter sports, fostering the next generation of elite athletes, or creating unforgettable community experiences, our focus is always on meaningful impact.

I am incredibly proud to be part of WinSport at this exciting time. Together with our talented team, dedicated sponsors, and amazing supporters, we will continue to honour the legacy of WinSport while embracing bold opportunities to make an even greater difference.

Thank you for your support and belief in our mission. Let’s work together to make this next chapter one of WinSport’s brightest yet!

Warm regards,

Andrew Judson
